How to view the resolution of barcode scanner

Many people always mention the word resolution when buying a bar code scanner, many people believe that the resolution is equal to the scanning power, the higher the resolution of the scanning power is higher.


In fact, not all of the barcode scanner resolution from three aspects to determine: the optical part, the hardware part and the software part. In other words, the resolution of the scanner is equal to the resolution of its optical components plus the resolution of its own processing and analysis by hardware and software.


Optical components in optical resolution is scanner per square inch area can capture the actual number of spot, is refers to the scanner CCD (or other photoelectric devices) physical resolution, is also a real resolution of the scanner, it is by the pixel of optoelectronic devices can capture divided by the scanner sweep horizontal maximum size of the value. If the resolution of the scanner is 1200DPI, the resolution of its optical part is usually only 400 ~ 600DPI. Some scanner advertisements say 9600×9600 dpi, which is only the maximum resolution obtained by software interpolation, not the true optical resolution of the scan gun. So for the scanner, the resolution is optical resolution (or optical resolution) and the maximum resolution, of course, we care about the optical resolution, which is the hard work.


When we say that the resolution of a scanner is up to 4,800 dpi (which is the sum of optical resolution and software difference processing), we mean that when the image is input with the scanner, 4,800 × 4,800 pixels can be collected on a scan format of 1 square inch. The 1-inch scan area, scanned with a resolution of 4,800dpi, produces an image size of 4,800pixel by 4,800pixel. When scanning tracing image, the higher the scanning resolution is set, the more fine the effect of the generated image will be, and the bigger the generated image file will be, but the more interpolation elements will be.
